Unexpected rug purchase transforms my living room
By Michael D., Chicago

Last spring, during a Mediterranean cruise, I bought a small handmade Kilim from Ephesus Handcrafts in Turkey. Their larger rugs caught my eye, but the prices were outside my vacation budget.
Months later, I received an unexpected call from Emre, the shop owner. He said they had inventory in the U.S. for trade shows and were offering special deals to past customers to avoid costly return shipping so I agreed to a home visit.
About a week later, Emre arrived, checked out my space, asked some questions and then brought in some rugs. Seeing these in my own home took out the guess work. One, in particular, stood out - a 6x9 foot beautiful lamb’s wool rug in forest green with ivory borders. That was perfect for my room. It is tightly woven which I learned is a sign of quality.
The price seemed lower than in Turkey and I found out this was on sale because of the cost of return shipping, import duties, and taxes if the rugs went back to Turkey. Emre also offered me a up to 12-month, interest-free payment plan. It seemed straightforward and made the purchase really easy.
I'm thoroughly pleased with my purchase. The rug is beautiful, unique and I get many compliments on it.
If you receive a call from Ephesus Handcrafts, it is worth considering.
A Home Visit has changed My Home Office

As a freelance graphic designer setting up my first dedicated home office, I was on the hunt for something special to tie the room together. I hadn't considered a Turkish rug until a colleague mentioned her experience with Ephesus Handcrafts.
Intrigued, I visited their website and filled out a contact form. To my surprise, I received a call the next day from Arturo, who explained they had a selection of rugs in the area and offered an in-home appointment. Initially skeptical of this approach, I agreed out of curiosity.
A week later, Arturo arrived with an impressive array of rugs. Seeing them in my actual space was incredibly helpful. He took the time to understand my style preferences and budget, explaining the symbolism behind different patterns and the craftsmanship involved.
I was drawn to a 4x6 foot silk blend rug with a modern take on traditional motifs. The blue and gold geometric patterns perfectly complemented my office's color scheme. What sealed the deal was seeing it actually laid out in the room – it transformed the space instantly.
While the price was at the higher end of my budget, Arturo offered a payment plan that made it manageable. I appreciated that there was no pressure to decide immediately, but the thought of losing out on the rug made me choose on the spot.
The rug has become a focal point of my workspace, often drawing compliments during video calls. The quality is evident, and it's wearing well despite being in a high-traffic area.
The overall experience was professional, and the the rug exceeded my expectations.
For those looking for unique, high-quality rugs and open to an unconventional buying process, Ephesus Handcrafts is worth considering. Just be prepared for a significant (maybe according to me) investment and don't be shy about asking questions during the appointment.

Just wanted to drop a note about your home visit last week. Gotta say, when you first called about bringing rugs to my house, I thought it was a bit weird. But I'm glad I gave it a shot.
Your showed up on time and were not pushy, which I appreciated. It was actually pretty cool seeing the rugs in my own living room instead of trying to imagine how they'd look.
We ended up getting that 5x7 blue and cream rug. It looks great, and the quality seems really good. My wife loves it, and even our cat has taken to napping on it!
Arturo knew his stuff about the rugs, which was helpful. I was surprised the prices were better than what I remembered from Turkey. He explained it was because they save on shipping the rugs back, plus all those import taxes and stuff. Made sense to me.
The payment plan option made it easier for us to say yes, too. That was a nice and touch.
Only thing - we felt a bit rushed to decide. Maybe give folks a day to think it over? Just a thought.
Overall, though, it was a good experience. Nice to be able to shop for something like this without having to go all over town.
Thanks again, Dave Miller Portland.
Rug shopping at home?

Do i remember that rug weaving shop in Turkey from my trip last year? Ephesus Handcrafts? Well, they called me up saying they were in town with some rugs. Figured why not see what they've got.
Arturo, the same guy from the Turkey shop, showed up with a bunch of rugs. Pretty cool seeing them in my actual living room instead of that crowded store. This 8x10 red and gold one caught my eye - looked way better on my floor than I thought it would.
Arturo still knew his stuff about weaving and materials. Prices were better than I remembered from Turkey. He said something about cutting out shipping costs back to Turkey. Whatever the reason, I wasn't complaining.
Didn't feel pushed to buy, which I liked. Ended up getting it anyway 'cause they had this pay-over-time thing.
Rug's pretty nice. Friends keep asking where I got it. Kinda fun to say, "Oh, you know, just some Turkish rug people who came to my house." Sounds weird, but it worked out.
If Ephesus gives you a call, might be worth checking out. Just be ready to actually like something - it's harder to say no when it's already looking good in your living room!

Okay, so picture this: I'm halfway through a plate of tacos when I get a call from that rug shop we visited on our anniversary trip to Turkey last year. Ephesus something.
They're in town and want to swing by with some rugs. My wife gives me that "why not?" shrug, so I say sure.
Next day, this guy Arturo shows up with a van full of rugs. Not gonna lie, it felt a bit like the start of a weird heist movie. But nope, just rugs. Really nice rugs, actually.
We cleared some space, and Arturo started unrolling these bad boys right in our living room. I do admit, it was pretty cool seeing how they looked with our stuff. There was this one - kinda earthy tones, 5x7? - that made our old couch look way fancier than it is.
Well he wasn't pushy, which I appreciated. He talked about the rugs, sure, but also swapped some travel stories.
Dude's got some tales.
Price-wise, it was less than I expected. He said something about cutting out middlemen and shipping costs. Made sense, I guess. The payment plan option was nice too - made it easier to justify to the wife.
We ended up getting that earthy one. It's been a couple months now, and I gotta say, it's holding up well. Even survived a dog incident (don't ask).
So yeah, if Ephesus gives you a call, maybe give it a shot. Worst case, you get a weird story. Best case, you get a sweet rug and some Turkish coffee. Can't really go wrong.

Hello, So as I promised I am sending you my impressions about your home visit: So other people can read that as well.
I got a call from that Turkish rug shop I visited on vacation - Ephesus Handcrafts. They wanted to bring rugs to my house. Weird, but I said why not?
The Gentleman shows up, starts unrolling these gorgeous rugs right in my living room. Game-changer! Found this beauty with reds, blues, and golds that pop against my orange wall.
Thought it'd cost a fortune, but price wasn't bad. Something about saving on shipping costs. They even do payment plans.
Now I've got this amazing rug that makes my whole place look better. If Ephesus calls you, say yes! Just be ready to fall in love with a rug you didn't know you needed.
Bonus: They brought Turkish coffee. Nice touch!

Never thought I'd buy a silk rug. Saw them in Ephesus when our cruise stopped in Kusadasi, Turkey. Gorgeous, but way out of my budget, so I settled for a wool one.
Fast forward 8-9 months. Last week, Ephesus Handcrafts called from a US number. They wanted to "liquidate" some rugs before flying home and offered a home visit. Curiosity got the better of me.
Their guy showed up with a van full of rugs. Seeing them in my own space? Total game-changer. Fell hard for this vibrant piece I'd probably have ignored in the store.
Prices were surprisingly reasonable - guess that's what "liquidate" meant. No pressure and flexible payment options sealed the deal.
Now my apartment has a real conversation starter.
If you have been to Turkey and bought a Turkish rug from Ephesus. You never know don't be surprised if they call you, give it a shot. You might just surprise yourself with some Turkish flair!
A rug, a dog, and an unexpected home makeover

Never thought I'd be writing about rugs, but here we are. I was ask to review my experience, My story starts with my dog destroying our living room rug (thanks, Buddy). While searching for replacements online, I stumbled on Ephesus Handcrafts - remembered them from a trip years ago.
Reached out for prices, and they offered a home visit. Weird, but convenient. Guy shows up with rugs, and suddenly my dog-disaster became a design opportunity
Found this incredible piece that tied the room together. Price was steep, but they worked with me on payments. Plus, it's apparently dog-claw resistant (here's hoping).
Whole experience was surreal but cool. If you're rug shopping, give these folks a shot. Just hide the chew toys first.
A Surprising and Satisfying Rug Purchase

I'm writing this review at the request of Ephesus Handcrafts, and I'm happy to share my experience.
Last year, during our cruise stop in Turkey, we visited the Ephesus Handcrafts shop and purchased a small kilim. It was a nice souvenir, but we hadn't given much thought to larger rugs at the time.
About a month ago, we received an unexpected call from Ephesus Handcrafts. They explained they were in Nashville with a selection of rugs and offered a home visit. Though unusual, we were intrigued and agreed.
Their representative arrived with several rugs and patiently showed us each one in our living room. The ability to see the rugs in our own space was incredibly helpful. We were particularly drawn to a larger rug with warm tones that complemented our decor beautifully.
While the price was higher than we initially planned to spend, Ephesus Handcrafts offered a great (otherwise impossible) discount because they were trying to avoid costs of taking the rugs back and a flexible payment plan, which made the purchase more feasible for us.
We've had the rug for a few weeks now, and we're very pleased with both the quality and how it transforms our living room. The whole experience, from the initial shop visit in Turkey to the home service in Nashville, was unique and ultimately very satisfying.
If you have the opportunity to work with Ephesus Handcrafts, I'd recommend keeping an open mind. Their approach is unconventional but effective, and the quality of their products is excellent.
A Rug That Transformed Our Bedroom

Ephesus Handcrafts asked me to share my experience, and I'm happy to oblige.
We bought a small rug from their shop Ephesus, Kusadasi during our Mediterranean cruise last year. Months later, they called offering a home visit with more rugs. They said they were in America for the trade shows and they were done and going back on their way. Skeptical at first, we agreed out of curiosity.
Their representative Arturo arrived with several options, but this deep red, geometrically patterned rug caught our eye immediately. Seeing it laid out in our bedroom was a game-changer. The rich colors beautifully complement our bedding and wood furniture.
What surprised us most was how it pulled the whole room together. It adds warmth to our neutral carpet and ties in perfectly with the artwork above our bed. The rug's traditional design adds character without overwhelming the space.
While the price was higher than we initially planned, the quality is evident. They offered a fair deal and payment options that made it work for our budget.
We've had the rug for a few weeks now, and it's become my favorite part of our bedroom. It's soft underfoot in the mornings and has already withstood a coffee spill.
If you're considering a rug from Ephesus Handcrafts, I'd say go for it. Their unique approach might seem unusual, but the end result speaks for itself. Just be prepared to fall in love with a rug you didn't know you needed!

Unexpected Find That Works for Us (and Our Dog)

Ephesus Handcrafts asked for my thoughts on our recent purchase, so here goes:
We bought this rug after a surprise home visit from them - they called us out of the blue a few months after we got a small souvenir from their shop in Turkey. Wasn't sure about it at first, but seeing the rugs in our actual living room made a big difference.
Went with this golden one with blue and brown patterns. It looks great with our hardwood floors and, surprisingly, it's held up well to our Curly (who's claimed it as his new napping spot).
Quality is very good so far. It was less pricier than we expected, and they offered a payment plan we were surprised but it helped.
Overall, pretty happy with it. If you get a call from Ephesus, it might be worth checking out. Just be ready for your pets to love it too!
